IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

•  Students may have anyone they wish video tape in the ballroom and take photographs.  We will no longer have any restrictions on videotaping dances.
• The Freddy Ball will be Saturday night and is open to anyone who purchases a $25.00 show ticket.  Doors for the Freddy Ball will open at 8:00pm instead of 8:30pm on Saturday.

Duel in the Sun started as a national zone competition in Phoenix, AZ, under the name "Sunshine Star Ball." Antoinette Benevento took over the event from the national company and in 2002, renamed it to Duel in the Sun.  With the new leadership, the introduction of additional studios here in the valley, and the growing publicity of ballroom dancing in mainstream media, Duel in the Sun has experienced continued growth each year and will continue to become one of the premier competitions in the state of Arizona.

In 2009, Duel in the Sun will be held as a full two-day event to accommodate both students and professionals alike.
